GPI-Lab experts have successfully completed their training under the UN Global Compact Climate Ambition Accelerator Program
On December 13, 2024, a solemn presentation of certificates to the participants of the Accelerator of Climate Ambitions of the UN Global Compact took place at the UN Plaza building in Almaty.
We are proud to announce that the GPI-Lab experts have successfully completed their training and received an official certificate. As part of the Accelerator Program, participants have deepened their knowledge in the following areas:
– science–based goal setting for small and medium-sized businesses,
– emission management strategies Scope 1, 2, 3;
– studying the best practices of international companies, as well as sharing experiences with colleagues from other companies as part of practical exercises for each module.
At the final event, the prospects for further cooperation between the Accelerator participants were discussed, as well as the importance of such initiatives to strengthen business climate commitments in Kazakhstan. The participants shared positive feedback about the program, emphasizing its practical value and the importance of the acquired knowledge.
The solemn awarding ceremony for the graduates of the Accelerator was conducted by: Mr. Kurtmolla Abdulgaliyev, Head of the Office of the UN Permanent Coordinator in Kazakhstan; Ms. Undra Suren, Head of the office of the International Organization for Migration in Almaty; Ms. Dinara Seitzhaparova, Country Manager of the UN Global Compact in Kazakhstan.
The event also featured a panel discussion on the flagship UN events of 2024, such as the UN General Assembly and COP29. The main focus was on the conclusions and prospects for the business. The participants discussed the role of companies in achieving global climate goals, stressed the need to integrate sustainable practices and identified key areas for cooperation with the international community.
GPI-Lab plans to actively apply the acquired knowledge in its activities, helping clients adapt to new climate challenges. We thank the UN Global Compact for the opportunity to participate in this important initiative and look forward to further fruitful cooperation!

The UN Global Compact’s Climate Ambition Accelerator is a six–month program aimed at training company experts in the knowledge and skills needed to accelerate progress in setting science-based emission reduction targets aligned with a trajectory of lowering temperatures to 1.5°C on the way to achieving net zero emissions by 2050. This Accelerator is aimed at strengthening climate action among companies of various sizes, industries and regions.
