The Association “Green Urban” and the Association of Public Catering of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation
On April 11, 2025, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed in Astana between the Green Urban Association and the association of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs in the form of the association “Self-regulating Catering Organization of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.
As part of the signed agreement, the parties intend to join forces to promote sustainable practices in the field of public catering, promote the greening of the restaurant business and create a culture of conscious consumption. Special attention is paid to the introduction of green technologies, waste recycling and the use of environmentally friendly, local products, which contributes to the support of local producers. The emphasis is also placed on digitalization of processes in the field of public catering, which makes it possible to optimize resource management, improve control over sanitary standards and improve the quality of food, as well as create more comfortable working conditions in restaurants and cafes.
The cooperation provides for the implementation of initiatives to introduce the principles of sustainable consumption in the restaurant industry, reduce waste, improve sanitary standards, and use environmentally friendly packaging and products.
The parties expressed their willingness to support professional training and development of specialists, including training in the field of environmental and energy efficiency management, as well as healthy nutrition. Additionally, cooperation with local producers will be developed, which will improve the quality of products and strengthen the local economy.
The cooperation will be implemented through joint programs, training sessions, seminars, conferences and the exchange of thematic publications aimed at raising awareness in the industry and popularizing sustainable approaches in public catering.
“Public catering is not only about food, but also about the quality of life, the health of the nation, and modern approaches to organizing the urban environment. We are pleased to join forces with the Association of Public Catering to work together on the development of this important industry,” said Yulia Yakupbayeva, Chairman of the Board of the Green Urban Association.
“Our partnership with Green Urban is a step towards a sustainable future where delicious food does not contradict clean air and fair production. We want to become part of a sustainable economy where local products and digitalization are not a trend, but a necessity. And we, as an industry, are ready to lead this transformation,” commented Veronika Daugalieva, Chairman of the Public Catering Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Associations are confident that the signing of the Memorandum will become the basis for long-term cooperation and the launch of initiatives that contribute to improving the quality of life of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
