GPI employees have completed training on the international IFRS S1 and S2 standards, which focus on the disclosure of financially material sustainability-related information. IFRS S1 sets out the general requirements for such disclosures, while IFRS S2 supplements them with specific climate-related requirements. The standards focus on information that enables investors to assess how relevant sustainability-related factors may affect a company’s cash flows and access to finance, as well as compare its performance with industry peers.
During the training, GPI employees studied the structure of the standards, key disclosure requirements, and approaches to their practical application, further strengthening the team’s expertise in sustainability and corporate reporting.
Interest in the new standards in Kazakhstan is growing and extending beyond the professional community. The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan has approved a National Roadmap for the phased implementation of IFRS S1 and S2 starting in 2027. As a result, the relevant requirements are expected to gradually become an integral part of business practices in Kazakhstan.
