On May 21, 2026, as part of the presentation of the Smart Water Zone environmental initiative — aimed at developing responsible water use practices among Kazakhstani companies — the Green Urban Association signed a number of cooperation memorandums with organizations working in the fields of water resources, science, analytics, and sustainable development.
A Memorandum of Cooperation between the Green Urban Association and the National Information and Analytical Center for Water Resources (a non-profit joint-stock company under the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan) provides for the development of cooperation in the fields of water resources, ecology, sustainable development, urbanism, and analytical and expert activities, as well as the implementation of joint projects and initiatives. On behalf of the Center, the memorandum was signed by Zhanna Amangeldinova Kazzhanova, Deputy Chairperson of the Management Board.

Continuing the line of bringing together the expert, scientific, and practical agenda, the Green Urban Association also signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (a non-profit joint-stock company). The agreement is aimed at developing mutually beneficial partnership, joint initiatives, and projects in the areas of sustainable development, environmental transformation, and professional training.
The document was signed on behalf of Ibragimov Primkul Sholpankulovich, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board — Rector of the University. The signing was accompanied online by Abasov Rafis Fanisovich, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Director of the Institute of Green and Sustainable Development.
The signing of these memorandums reflects the growing demand for combining the competencies of the state, science, the expert community, and industry organizations around practical sustainable development goals. Issues of water resource management, environmental sustainability, analytics, and specialist training increasingly require cross-sector cooperation, joint expertise, and long-term partnerships.
The Green Urban Association expresses its gratitude to its partners for their readiness to work together and is confident that the agreements reached will form the basis for implementing practical projects, exchanging expertise, and developing sustainable solutions for Kazakhstan.
