Green Urban Will Help Kazakhstani Businesses Enter the Chinese Market and Attract Investment

Astana, June 23, 2026. The Non-Profit Association “Green Urban Association” and the Non-Profit Association “Association of Consulting and Trading Companies” have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at strengthening trade, economic, investment, and business ties between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People’s Republic of China.

Under the agreements reached, the parties intend to support the entry of Kazakhstani enterprises into the Chinese market, develop export-import activities, and attract investment for the implementation of projects in Kazakhstan.

To implement the Memorandum, the parties have divided their areas of responsibility: Green Urban will focus on working with Kazakhstani companies, projects, government bodies, development institutions, and industry communities, while the Association of Consulting and Trading Companies will ensure engagement with Chinese buyers, suppliers, investors, and business structures. This will allow the parties to select requests, prepare proposals, organize negotiations, business missions, and exhibitions, and support participants from initial interest through to substantive cooperation.

In the near term, the parties will agree on priority areas of cooperation, form a list of promising initiatives, and begin work on the first projects involving Kazakhstani enterprises and Chinese partners.

“For GPI Group, the export-to-China direction is a new but strategically important line of services. We understand the strength of our own competencies, but we are open to cooperating with strong partners who can help us extend our offering within the PRC,” noted Yuliya Yakupbayeva, Chairperson of the Council of the Green Urban Association and Partner at GPI.

In turn, Ayan Yerenov, Chairman of the Association of Consulting and Trading Companies, emphasized:

“Our Association and the Green Urban Association have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at creating a mechanism for trade and investment cooperation with China. The key beneficiaries of this mechanism will be Kazakhstani exporting companies. The workflow will include a wide range of services for each exporter — from packaging adaptation to negotiations with distributors. We are removing language, logistical, and mental barriers. The second area of work will be attracting investment into various sectors of Kazakhstan’s economy.”
