Forbes Kazakhstan has published an interview with Yuliya Yakupbayeva, Managing Partner of GPI Group, exploring how ESG is becoming increasingly embedded in the economy and reshaping the way businesses operate and make decisions.
According to Yuliya Yakupbayeva, “the climate agenda has fully become part of the economy.” Climate-related risks and impacts are already affecting companies’ financial positions and, as a result, changing approaches to management. Factors that once remained outside core business decisions now have to be considered alongside other economic indicators. In this context, the readiness of Kazakhstani companies for these changes is increasingly measured through “new metrics of business competitiveness.”
A practical tool for this work is Sustainable Compass, Kazakhstan’s first digital ESG platform. It supports companies throughout the process — from identifying their starting point in ESG to assessing readiness for international requirements and selecting IT solutions aligned with their business objectives.
