On June 4, the ESG Trends forum was held, sponsored by QazaqGaz National Company JSC, Tengizchevroil LLP, the Energy Monitor Foundation, and the “Atameken” National Chamber of Entrepreneurs.
The event brought together 40 prominent speakers and more than 400 participants, showcasing new horizons for sustainable development in Kazakhstan. It demonstrated significant progress in the field of ESG among both large and medium-large companies.

“We understand that issues of green transition, achieving sustainable development goals, and implementing relevant technologies have long gone beyond a purely climate agenda. Today they are inextricably linked to investment, international trade, and the comprehensive restructuring of the economies of countries, cities, and regions,” noted Rayimbek Batalov, Chairman of the Presidium of the “Atameken” National Chamber of Entrepreneurs.

The ESG Trends forum became an important platform for discussing current issues and exchanging experience. The participation of major players such as Qazaqgaz, ERG, KMG, Kazakhmys, Halyk Bank, and TCO confirmed the high level of the event. However, it is especially encouraging that the medium-large business segment is also actively engaging in ESG initiatives, reflecting growing interest in sustainable development across the country.
Key topics of the forum included:
Particular attention at the forum was paid to green financing. The Sustainable Development Council held its regular meeting on this important topic, discussing new opportunities and instruments for financing environmentally sustainable projects.

“We are on the threshold of major changes in the climate agenda and sustainability regulation among our trading partners. We see that generational values are shifting the focus of attention from consumption to resource conservation. We are glad that a cohort of responsible businesses is forming in Kazakhstan, and we are ready to highlight and share successful cases, foster networking, and support the formation of new economic sectors,” noted Yulia Yakupbayeva, Partner at GPI Group and Chairperson of the Sustainable Development and ESG Council under the “Atameken” National Chamber of Entrepreneurs.
We extend our gratitude to all speakers and participants, as well as to the sponsors and organizing team, for their contribution to this significant event. The ESG Trends forum proved that Kazakhstan’s market is reaching a new level of sustainable development, uniting efforts to build a greener and more sustainable future.
